Barangay Ginebra made a complete turnaround from its shattering 34-point loss in Game One, pulling off a big win of its own Monday to tie its PBA Governors Cup best-of-five series with NorthPort after two games.
Raising the level of their game notches higher, the Kings battered and bamboozled the Batang Pier en route to a 113-88 rout to the delight of the Ginebra throngs at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Kings and the Batang Pier slug it out again at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the same venue, disputing the crucial 2-1 lead.
Flat the last time out, Kings were so fluid this time, putting the game away right in the first half with a 29-point bulge behind a torrid shooting and a pesky defense limiting Michael Qualls to three markers in the first 24 minutes of play.
Exploding for 27 first-half points in Game One, Qualls bled for three this time on a woeful 1-of-10 clip.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone put Scottie Thompson on Qualls, with the Ginebra defense collapsing on the NP import each time he had possession.
