Terrence Jones says LA Tenorio punched him in the stomach and got away with it

TNT KaTropa import Terrence Jones was mired in the middle of another on-court altercation, this time with Brgy. Ginebra point guard LA Tenorio.

Just two games removed from his run-in with the still-suspended Calvin Abueva, Jones was at it again after he was whistled for a Flagrant Foul Penalty 1 (FFP1) for hitting a driving LA Tenorio in the 3rd Quarter of their match, Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

When pressed to comment of the incident, the former NBA player insisted that Tenorio started it all by punching him in the stomach during an earlier play.

“I just wanted to be aggressive. I felt, you know, he kinda punched me in the stomach beforehand and they didn’t call it,” said the 27-year American.

Jones finished below his usual scoring output but more than made up for it by coming up with a triple-double. The 18th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Rookie Draft scattered 17 points, hauled down 14 rebounds, dished out 16 assists and rejected 6 shots to lead his team to a 104-96, come-from-behind win over the Gin Kings to keep in step with the leaders with a 5-1 card.

Despite the commotion, Jones said the team was able to regain and keep its focus for the duration of the game.

“I just wanted to let my guys know that they are not going to try to do anything dirty. We just going to continue winning. We kept playing and we didn’t bother none of us. We are just worried about getting this win.”
